The Wandering Workshop | Sailboat Stacking and balancing toy

The Wandering Workshop | Sailboat Stacking and balancing toy

DESIGN: A fun toy for little travellers

The boat & waves stacking toy is a minimalistic design that combines soft curves and colours with satin smooth natural wood surfaces. It is an open-ended, timeless toy to "play simple",  leaving space for the child's imagination to flourish.

It is comprised of 5 pieces that the child can put in different ways to create different patterns of the sea and the boat. The convex form of the little boat permits a slight swinging once placed on the waves.

The Wandering Workshop is a young toy brand in the kids design that invites children and adults alike to a world open to imagination.  Athina and Jose are the founders, designers, toymakers and dreamers behind the brand.

They offer high-quality, open-ended, minimalistic toys that stimulate imagination, intrigue children’s innate curiosity and leave space for the child to invent the play. Their toys combine clean lines and clear colours with satin smooth wood surfaces that familiarise the child with the qualities of wood.

All toys are made in a beautiful corner of the world, in Crete, Greece. The toys are hand-crafted through an elaborate, artisan process that focuses on offering high quality products. The production is local, small-scale and respectful with the environment. The Wandering workshop support responsible management of the world´s forests by using FSC certified European beech wood. The materials we elaborate are European and EN/71.3 certified (European standards for safety on toys). The paints and varnish are non-toxic, water-based. The glue is solvent and formaldehyde-free. Finally, they finish the wood surfaces with natural beeswax.
